When I visit someone’s home or office, one of the first things I notice are the books. Books tell you not only a person’s interest, but their range of interests. They may appear worn because they are well-read or perhaps because they are a treasured gift or remembrance from someone special.

Many of your efforts may be unseen by others, but I am reminded of the old saying, “Mighty oaks from little acorns grow.” Small acts of kindness, seen or unseen, can make a tremendous difference. Thank you for the work you do.

Supporting new families can take place in a variety of ways and occur in a variety of venues. Diversifying how and where we teach and serve will improve our harvest – a well-educated population that results in improved birth practices and outcomes.

Our fourth goal states that ICEA will “Promote evidence-based options in maternal child health through collaboration and networking.” In the past several months, we have been building relationships with other organizations so that we can offer additional benefits to our certified professionals.
