Debbie is a nationally recognized childbirth educator, birth and postpartum doula, lactation counselor, and leader in maternal-child health with more than 30 years of experience. She is the President of the International Childbirth Education Association (ICEA), where she works to advance evidence-based education and strengthen collaboration across the perinatal field.

Debbie has supported thousands of families through pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum period in hospitals, homes, and community settings. She is the founder of BabyMatters, a resource center offering education, doula services, and support for growing families. In addition to her hands-on work, she has trained birth professionals across the United States and internationally, presenting more than 150 workshops and speaking at major conferences.

A writer, podcast host, and educator, Debbie is passionate about helping families discover calm and confidence during the transition to parenthood, while also mentoring the next generation of birth professionals to provide compassionate, informed care.
