2026 Conference Speaker

7:00-8:30pm Evening Activity & Dessert Round Robin Ft. Amy Nevland, Connie Bach-Jeckell, & Emily Wannenburg, & MORE

Connie is a certified nurse, childbirth educator, doula and trainer. For over 30 years she has taught across the United States as well as internationally, primarily working in Guatemala and Romania.

After nursing school, she worked for 15 years at the regional teaching hospital as a labor and delivery nurse and as Coordinator of Childbirth Education and the Joyful Beginnings Doula Program. Joyful Beginnings was the first hospital-based doula program in the state of Tennessee, serving families long before doulas became widely recognized. Her experience has enabled her to walk both sides of the fence – medical and non-medical, giving her an insight to better prepare doulas and childbirth educators.

She has served on the ICEA board and now coordinates the ICEA trainers. In 2016, she received the Doris Haire Lifetime Achievement Award.
