Amy is a certified Lactation Counselor, Birth Doula and Childbirth Educator with ICEA and the instructor of an awesome childbirth ed class. She also is an ICEA certified birth doula and childbirth ed trainer. Soooo, you wanna’ be a doula now? She can help you with that, too.

An Austin native, Amy was born at St. David’s Medical Center, Graduated from UT Austin, and taught Literature and Writing and ESL until the birth of her 3 children. (One hospital birth (12/25/05), two home births (2008 & 2011), all 3 all natural.

Since 2009, Amy has had the privilege of supporting new parents as an educator and doula for many different types of births for woman of all ages in many different hospitals and homes and birthing centers around town. VBAC’s, Inductions, Cesarean Births, Natural Births. Check. Check. And Check. Amy believes deeply that a woman’s body was fearfully and wonderfully created and divinely designed for the unique work of labor and delivery.

When she’s not acting as a tour guide through labor either preemptively through a childbirth class, or real time as a birth doula, Amy enjoys spending time camping and kayaking with her family, gardening, and eating chips and salsa in South Austin.
