Navigating Breastfeeding Myths and Misinformation in the Era of Social Media

Dr. Thuet is a board-certified pediatrician, International Board-Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC), and the only board-certified Breastfeeding and Lactation Medicine physician in Utah and the surrounding Mountain West region. She earned her medical degree from the University of Utah School of Medicine and completed her pediatric residency at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center.

Throughout her career, Dr. Thuet has been dedicated to supporting breastfeeding families, from serving Hopi and Navajo communities on the Navajo Nation to caring for newborns and training medical students and residents at the University of Utah. Recognizing the need for specialized medical care for breastfeeding and lactation-related complications, she pursued advanced physician-level training in the emerging field of Breastfeeding and Lactation Medicine.

In 2023, Dr. Thuet became board-certified in Breastfeeding and Lactation Medicine during the inaugural year of certification. In 2024, she founded Ella & Allo Breastfeeding and Lactation Medicine, where she exclusively provides medical care for lactating individuals and their infants. She also serves on the Board of Directors for the Mountain West Mothers’ Milk Bank.
