Teaching Idea Sheets
Developed as an ICEA Benefit, the Teaching Idea Sheets are meant to help ICEA certified professionals in their classrooms. From ideas for teaching about breastfeeding to informed consent, we hope our ICEA community finds these resources valuable.
Classroom Handouts
Basic ICEA Handouts can be reproduced used by childbirth educators and doulas. These were developed as an ICEA Benefit and provide an additional teaching tool to reach the client who is a visual learner.
Breastfeeding Class Slides
These Breastfeeding Class Slides are offered to ICEA certified professionals and ICEA advocate members at no cost. It was created to be an addition to childbirth education classes, or as a separate breastfeeding class for parents. The class slides have basic breastfeeding information to help new parents start breastfeeding right away, and continue successfully breastfeeding their new baby. All the information is evidence-based, and the slides include references and resources. The Breastfeeding Class Slides were initially developed by Donna Walls, an RN and Certified Lactation Consultant for 30 years, to provide current and relevant information for perinatal education classes.
Past Journal Issues
International Journal of Childbirth Education (IJCE) was the official journal of ICEA. It was a quarterly, peer-reviewed journal publishing original research, insights in practice and policy, commentaries, and book reviews relating to research and practice in family-centered maternity and newborn care.
