Royal Caribbean's Liberty of the Seas

5-Night Western Caribbean Cruise Conference
Ft. Lauderdale, Florida

November 9-14, 2013

Why Attend the ICEA Cruise Conference?

This is the first annual meeting that ICEA has ever held on a cruise.   The Royal Caribbean’s Liberty of the Seas ship is specially designed to accommodate conferences with excellent meeting spaces.   So, in addition to a jam-packed educational line-up that will occur during the two days at sea, the cruise will allow plenty of recreational time to enjoy with friends, family and colleagues both on-ship and during visits to Belize and Cozumel.   You’ll depart with a wealth of new and updated information to help you in your work and a host of pleasant memories.

Who Should Attend?

Current and aspiring childbirth educators, doulas (both birth and postpartum), perinatal fitness instructors, midwives, labor-and-delivery nurses and other health professionals interested in improved maternity services for expectant parents.

Contact Hours

Attendees on the cruise will receive a full 24 ICEA contact hours that can be used towards ICEA recertification.    ICEA has applied for 15.5 hours of nursing (CEU) and lactation consultant (CERP) continuing education credits.

***If current ICEA Certified Childbirth Educators or Doulas attend any ICEA 2 day pre-conference OR the full cruise conference for recertification purposes, they will fulfill the ENTIRE recertification requirement of 24 ICEA contact hours, even if less hours are given at the conference attended.  For example, if the conference is approved for 15.5 contact hours, an ICEA Certified participant will receive 24.0 ICEA contact hours by attending to be used for their recertification(s).

Hotel Reservations

A very convenient jumping-off place for the cruise is the Hampton Inn Ft. Lauderdale/Downtown/City Center, 250 N. Andrews Ave., Ft. Lauderdale, FL 33301.  WEBPAGE  Phone reservations can be made at 954-924-2700 (mention that you are attending the ICEA cruise or group code "ICE").   A special rate of $129 for a double will be available through October 6, 2013.   Transportation to the cruise pier on Saturday, November 9, will be provided by the hotel.   The hotel does not provide transportation from the Ft. Lauderdale airport.  For guests needing to leave their vehicles overnight while on the cruise, the Hampton Inn will honor a discounted parking fee of $6.00 per night.
