We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Manager of Perinatal Support Services to lead and manage the Department of Parent Education and Breastfeeding Services, specifically focused on perinatal nursing and education. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, implementing, and evaluating evidence-based perinatal education and support programs; planning, managing and adjusting the budgets and other managerial functions; participating in the development, implementation and reinforcement of evidence-based care through programs and projects; and providing clinical leadership in assessing, implementing and evaluating the education and support provided to parents. You will also be responsible for interviewing, hiring, developing, guiding, coaching, counseling, and disciplining parent education and lactation staff consistent with principles of a caring, fair, and professional work environment; developing education programs and materials; participating in quality and performance improvement projects; and applying findings from evidence-based practice and research to strengthen and enhance perinatal education and support programs.
To qualify, you must have an MSN; LCCE; IBLC; NYS RN licensure; at least 5 years of perinatal clinical experience; at least 3 years parent education experience; and an understanding of change management, professional practice, and current expectations to promote perinatal wellness. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential. An MSN with focus on education and membership in the Association of Women’s Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses, and other pertinent professional organizations preferred.
